X-Pyr Czech Team Tomas Matera

“We had nice day – the first day is always nice 😁

I was happy that we could at least glide to the valleys even

once I was unlucky and had to run a bit down to get from the clouds. We have finished today after 55km from the start. Approximately 60km of running and 20km of gliding bring me today on the 16th place.

Looking forward for coming days 💪”

Simon Oberrauner

As the weather was not as bad as expected our team had a pretty good start. Simon managed to keep a constant pace up La Rhune and glided down to the northeast side. Right now he is hiking up a small mountain called Errebi for another flight. (Photo) We are hoping this route with some hike and fly is the fastest way to the second turnpoint Accous.

We are here!

We have arrived in Hondarribia. The weather during the trip looked stunning, with a high base of amazing fluffy clouds. It’s hard to see this knowing the start of the race won’t have the best weather, to say the best. But we spent the afternoon on a beautiful hike up to Lahrun.

Without them, the X-Pyr wouldn't exist.
