Why did you choose the X-Pyr?
Beause this is Wild!!! And it promises to be a great journey with the team!
What is your greatest sporting success?
Being old!
When and why did you start paragliding?
2005 is the start of my Icarus dream! But it was a bit too slow for me to get down the mountain… So I seriously came back at it in 2019 when I was older 🙂
What is your mountaineering experience?
Many trips and expeditions around the world (Népal, Pakistan, China, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru…) and over 10 years of guiding in the Alps!
What are your best and worst sporting memories?
The best : reaching the Siguniang’s summit in China, after 4 days on the face, and having a soup at the top (6250 m) with my mate.
The worst : the way down, discovering my frozen toes, and the following year… but thankfully I kept them!
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? Do you have a favourite area?
Only few times in Organya for acro!
Is there anything you like to see (or not) in the route?
The X! Or a double X? why not?
Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Learn a lot, wait and see sometimes… but mainly ATTACK!
What does your typical training week consist of?
A medley of family, job and my egocentrics goals!
Basically, I try to train my heart as much as possible (3 to 7 times a week) according to season: running, ski mountineering, cross-country skiing…
And get every flyable window even if it’s for 30 minutes after work!
What has been the hardest part of your race preparation so far?
Get my tendons ready to play drum and bass.
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr?
From ocean to sea! That’s a great way to cross the Pyrennees!
What worries you the most about the event?
To know if my assistants gonna stay or run away!
How do you know your assistant?
Long friendship, also a mountain guide, and now colleague as a mountain rescuer.
What are your assistant’s main strengths?
His ability to simplify everything. Tranquillo.
What advice would you ask of the race veterans?
South or North? 😉
Anything else you like to comment?
We need you! So please spam my assistants with pretty supporting messages full of love, good vibes, and brilliant strategies! (Funny bullshit accepted!)
