Why did you choose the X-Pyr again?
I choose to come back to take my revenge on myself because I was not physically ready to join such a big adventure.

How was your race the last time?
The first time was a tough physical test with a lot (too much) walking, 70km per day for 3 days. My body, which was not prepared enough, quickly told me to stop!

What did you learn during the last edition?
You must respect your body without trying to force yourself physically during long races. The tactic is very different from the classic 3-day hike and fly format.

What does your typical training week consist of?
Has your training regime changed since the last X-Pyr?

Flat ground and low intensity have been a big part of my trainings.

What changes have you made to your equipment for this edition?
I have more suitable shoes depending on the terrain (road, path, dry climb, etc.), and a lighter paraglider.

Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Management of the physical side, trying to push on appropriate times and not based on sensations.

What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr again?
The idea of connecting the ocean to the sea is heavenly.

What worries you the most about the event?
The ignorance of certain areas of the race with aerological conditions that could be unsafe.

Is there anything you like to see (or not) in the route?
“The Mediterranean Sea !!!!
connect the different points that I already know”

Do you have a favourite part of the Pyrenees?
Between the Pic du Midi and the Pic de Bigore.

How do you know your assistant?
It’s my brother, which follows me throughout the year.

What are your assistant’s main strengths?
He is used to following the hike and fly races, it’s an asset for good advice for fly and for his cooking!
He also knows how to stay calm in all circunstances, even when the team is tired and on edge.

What advice would you give a rookie in this event?
It’s a race against yourself. And you have to find the balance between pain and pleasure

Without them, the X-Pyr wouldn't exist.
