Why did you choose the X-Pyr?
Because it will probably be the toughest challenge I’ll ever do in my life.
What is your greatest sporting success?
First place at the hike & fly Aragon
When and why did you start paragliding?
I started with speed gliding in 2019 because of a friend and 2021 with paragliding because I liked the atmosphere of the PG scene. Flying long distances seemed incredible.
What is your mountaineering experience?
I was a climber years ago, a skier and a regular mountaineer.
What are your best and worst sporting memories?
There are many good memories….my first flights when practicing snow kiting, surfing the Chicama wave in Peru, landing after 8 hours of flying in the Pyrenees… The bad moments always turned into good moments with time.
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? Do you have a favourite area?
Yes, the area I have enjoyed the most has been Benasque, flying over Posets or Aneto.
Is there anything you like to see (or not) in the route?
Flying over Ordesa would be a real pleasure.
Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Learn from the best and try to keep a positive mindset.
What does your typical training week consist of?
Walking, cycling, running, gym and flying as much as possible.
What has been the hardest part of your race preparation so far?
The hardest thing has been not to go training like a madman and overdo it. Stopping my mind at night, always anxious about the preparations.
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr?
It is a huge honour to be admitted to participate.
What worries you the most about the event?
The windy days, which we will have for sure.
How do you know your assistant?
We are members of the same club, so we fly a lot together.
What are your assistant’s main strengths?
She is a great person and sportswoman and surely a future X-Pyr competitor.
What advice would you ask of the race veterans?
How to endure those days of not flying?
