Why did you choose the X-Pyr?
For adventure – to run or fly across the entire Pyrenees with the best hike & fly pilots in the world.
What is your greatest sporting success?
4th placed Rookie in Bordairrace/8th overall in 2022
When and why did you start paragliding?
I started paragliding in 2007. I always wanted to fly.
What is your mountaineering experience?
I run a lot in the mountains – at every opportunity, in all seasons and in all weather conditions.
What are your best and worst sporting memories?
Best – completing the route and crossing the finish line of any hike & fly competition! Worst – running too much and not having the strength to fly…
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? Do you have a favourite area?
No, it will be my first time in the Pyrenees.
Is there anything you like to see (or not) in the route?
I’d like to always see a good place to land safely 😄
Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Rest well, eat well, don’t rush too much and maintain strength for all days of the competitions.
What does your typical training week consist of?
Running every day – before or after work. On weekends – longer mountain runs and flying whenever weather conditions allow. Flying, of course, with hiking!
What has been the hardest part of your race preparation so far?
Finding a small, nice camper 😵💫
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr?
To be a participant in this great adventure is the most exciting! I can’t wait to start!
What worries you the most about the event?
Too strong wind for flying.
How do you know your assistant?
Marcin and I often fly to the Beskids Mountains. We love hiking, discovering new take off places and fly into the wild and uknown areas.
What are your assistant’s main strengths?
Marcin is a paragliding instructor, a master of weather forecasts, an excellent flight analyzer and advanced biwaq pilot. His knowledge will definitely be useful during the race.
What advice would you ask of the race veterans?
Each mountain has specific, local conditions in different parts of the day – any clue of that knowledge would allow to complete the route much faster.
Anything else you like to comment?
Keep your fingers crossed that I complete the entire X-Pyr route!!!
