When and why did you start paragliding?
Started in 2001 for the beauty of flying and the adrenaline rush.
What is your mountaineering experience?
High level of rope technique skills, climbed the Mont Blanc and other alpine peaks, Pico Ruiz Wilches 5200m, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia.
What are your best and worst sporting memories?
Some of the best memories definitely come from racing through the Red Bull X-Alps 2023.
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? Do you have a favourite area?
Only in Organyá, Ager, Castejon de Sos and Val Louron
Is there anything you like to see (or not) in the route?
For me most of it will be completely new so I am happy with any route.
Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Come home with a smile.
What does your typical training week consist of?
I have to start training again, then I will let you know 🙂
What has been the hardest part of your race preparation so far?
Ask me later.
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr?
To test myself in a very different environment than what I am used to in the Alps.
What worries you the most about the event?
Demanding conditions and safety.
How do you know your assistant?
I don’t know them yet but my wife will be helping as well and we met in a techno club in Innsbruck.
What are your assistant’s main strengths?
Physical endurance, hike and fly and cross-country flying skills, navigation, logistics.
What advice would you ask of the race veterans?
Teach me about the Pyrenees!
