Why did you choose the X-Pyr again?
It is an adventure I have participated in, I like the organisers and the Pyrenees.
How was your race the last time?
It was a successful race.
What did you learn during the last edition?
At certain times, you must have more patience.
What does your typical training week consist of?
Has your training regime changed since the last X-Pyr?
During the winter I am doing ski touring, running and I wait for spring to combine them with thermal flights. I am persevering in the same style of training.
What changes have you made to your equipment for this edition?
Generally clothing and flight equipment are becoming lighter and more efficient.
Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Not to delay at good take-offs to have a good day to fly.
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr again?
To unite the two beaches between the Atlantic ocean and the Mediterranean sea.
What worries you the most about the event?
I do not worry about anything, adapting is the secret of the race.
Is there anything you like to see (or not) in the route?
To see many eagles as they are the best visual markers in flight.
Do you have a favourite part of the Pyrenees?
The tallest and imposing slopes.
How do you know your assistant?
He was also in the team with us at the X-Alps, in the last 10 years we have been good friends.
What are your assistant’s main strengths?
He is determined, sporty, I feel like we will make a good team together.
What advice would you give a rookie in this event?
To know the limits well, in the beginning to expend as much energy as is needed, not to get tired quickly.
Anything else you like to comment?
I wish to have a nice time, I hope to see as many teams as possible on the beach at the Mediterranean, and to see each other healthy at the end.
