Corpas Team – Day 3

Today, already rested from yesterday’s 73kms, I got up with more spirit and ready to fly more than to walk, and it wasn’t so bad.

I was able to make three flights today, the first one from the Vallée d’aspé, a second flight in which I made the TP2 beacon of Acouss, taking off from the upper take-off and I was able to take off quite a few kilometres, flying inside the gorge because everything there was to climb was very weak and you don’t dare with those conditions to try much, always having good landings in sight and after this flight we are heading south.

The third flight took off from the ski resort of Astún and achieved a good flight that took me to the foot of Peña Montañesa, which is the TP3.

Very happy today and excited to start the fourth day of the race.

Let’s go!

Team Canada X Pyr Day 2

By the end of day 2, James felt like team Canada placed well among the other teams. The day started out okay for about an hour before it started drizzling on and off for the rest of the day with a really wet ending.

A lot of hard work on the ground and some right decisions allowed James to really make the most of the day, but once his wing got quite soaked it made hiking significantly harder and slower. We’re definitely looking forward to more flyable days!

Fred Juvaux’s team – XPyr Not D 3

Far too much walking the first two days of the competition, Fred is caught up in the limits of his body, his formerly fractured ankle (a 25m fall in a climbing route following a dropout of points). The mind could surely have started up again despite the rather inhuman performance of his long hours on the road. But the ankle screams stop. Fred knows that if he continues, it’s a bad investment for the future: paragliding but also climbing, life! He is not ready to go that far and between us, that seems reasonable to me.

What an experience these first days! The surpassing of either. Effortless learning. The importance of the team to accompany Fred as well as possible in his progress.

0km (including 0km of paragliding), 0m of d+. We take the road again. Objective number 1: a good recovery.

2:30 p.m.: delivery of trackers to Pilar.

Now we are wholeheartedly with the other competitors, come on Pierre! Go Edward! May the force be with you !

Another big thank you to the Fred Juvaux’team, Camille, Titi, to our families and friends who followed the adventure, the beginning of the adventure…

Good flight to all and to the XPyr. Thank you Inigo and co!

Without them, the X-Pyr wouldn't exist.

Our thanks to:
